The Australasian Association of International Baccalaureate Schools Conference was held at Monte Sant’ Angelo Mercy College in North Sydney, 12th to 14th April, 2008. The theme of the Conference was ‘Knowing the Heart, Knowing the Mind’. Delegates had the opportunity to: • Reflect on intercultural understandings from Educational, Political, Social and Indigenous Perspectives. • Discuss curriculum matters. • Hear about research into IB programmes. • Share in best practice with other schools within Australasia. • Meet key IB personnel: Judith Guy, Regional Director; Tania Lattanzio, PYP; Curtis Beaverford, MYP; Nigel Forbes-Harper, DP; Ed Lawless, Professional Development Manager; Greg Valentine, Australasian Representative. • Network and socialise with staff from other IB Authorised, Candidate and Interested schools Speakers included: Professor Frank Brennan SJ, AO; Hon. Dame Carol Kidu, DBE, MP; Eva Cox AO; Professor Larissa Behrendt; IBAP Regional Director Judith Guy; Dr Susan Bliss and Dr Gabrielle Matters.
